Joseph has fostered strong relationships with brands from InterContinental Hotels Group, Marriott International, Hilton Worldwide, Wyndham Worldwide, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. He takes great pride in building a philanthropic foundation to his business and has been a dedicated supporter and sponsor for many non-profit organizations including the Special Olympics, McKinley Children’s Center, and Kern County’s American Red Cross where he currently holds title as a Board of Director. He also serves as a Board member of the American Hotel Association, Director of California Lodging Industry Association, and as Board member of the Taiwan Hotel and Motel Owners Association of Southern California.


Michael SchaeferMichael Schaefer
Executive Vice President

Mike joined Brighton in 2004 bringing over 28 years of hospitality experience. His responsibilities include budgeting, financial reviews, brand compliance, guest service experience, and employee development and leadership. In addition, he manages every brand conversion, renovation, and new management contracts or acquisition changeovers.

Mike began his career at the Radisson Inn in Park City Utah, which sparked his passion for what would be his life long career. He began as a Food and Beverage Director, and quickly moved up to become the General Manager.  He was awarded the Radisson Owner’s Award for “Most Improved Average Daily Rate”. After his service there, Mike continued to collect and hone his management skills at various luxury, full service, and select service hotels including the Guild Hotel Management, Red Lion Hotels and Inns, Starwood Hotels, Cavanaugh Hotels, and John Q Hammons Hotels. Michael is a people oriented hospitality leader who delivers financial results, outstanding customer service, and has a knack for building great hospitality teams.


JamesHsuJames Hsu
Senior Vice President of Real Estate

Since joining Brighton Management in 2000, James is responsible for the management of corporate planning, investor relations, financial planning, and all treasury-related functions.  During his 16 year tenure at Brighton, he has been responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company including all aspects of recruiting and training, implementation of corporate growth policies, monitoring revenue and cost structure, negotiating contracts, and overseeing the acquisition and development of over 25 hotels.

James has been responsible for the successful development and management of over a quarter of a billion dollars worth of real estate since joining Brighton. He is an active member in the hospitality industry and enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering his time to various charitable organizations.


VictorDollarVictor Dollar
Senior Vice President of Sales

Joining Brighton in 2006 to oversee operations for a number of hotel properties within Brighton’s portfolio, Victor brings over 21 years of extended stay, resort, full and select service experience to Brighton.  His experience has ranged with positions from Director of Sales & Marketing, Assistant General Manager, and General Manager.  He prides himself for his strategic endeavors to increase sales, rates, community relations, and ultimately profitability.

Victor is a service minded leader known for his tremendous energy for success, and passion for motivating his team to achieve optimum results. During his employment at Marriott, he was awarded the coveted Silver Award from Marriott for Guest Satisfaction. He also serves as Chairman of Ventura County Lodging Association, as a Board Member of the Workforce Investment Board, and as a Board Member of the Ventura Visitors and Convention Bureau.


StacyMorrisStacy Morris
Vice President of Human Resources

Stacy joined Brighton in 2013 and has 20 years of experience in Human Resources.  She serves as the Vice President of Human Resources and is passionate about attracting exceptional team members to join the Brighton family.  She is responsible for all aspects of HR including company culture, vision and administration as it relates to the team members. Stacy focuses on legal matters, benefit development and talent advancement.

Stacy serves as a member of the Executive team and participates in strategic planning for the current, and future growth of Brighton Management.


EverardoNavaEverardo Nava
Corporate Controller

Bringing over 18 years of hospitality experience, Everardo joined the Brighton team in 2013. He is responsible for leadership of the Accounting Department as well as collaborating with management to improve operating efficiency and profitability.  In addition, he is responsible for planning strategies including cash and treasury management, forecasting, capital budgeting and managerial accounting.  He is also accountable for the company’s internal control framework and timely financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted principles. He is experienced and knowledgeable in several facets of full-service hospitality operations, including accounting, front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, revenue management and property operations.

Everardo earned a degree in Business Management from Pepperdine University and a Certificate in Accounting from the UCLA Extension program.  He passed the CPA and Enrolled Agent examinations. Everardo served in the United States Marine Corps before beginning his career in the hospitality industry.  His favorite quote is “the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others” –Mahatma Gandhi


BillyMendezBilly Mendez
Regional Vice President

Billy joined the Brighton family in 2000. Billy is responsible for all aspects of the hotel portfolio including selective services, extended stay, mid-scale, and full service properties. In addition, he is also responsible for P&L accountability, guest service excellence, property performance and owners relations. Billy exemplifies strategic leadership in directing all aspects related to the takeover of a hotel and franchise conversion. He is responsible for the creation of strategies for a new build property and renders support for the pre-opening. Billy monitors the overall profitable management of the properties through the oversight of monthly forecasting and budgeting. Billy assumes full responsibility in directing diverse accounting transactions for the properties from cash receipts to equipment acquisitions. Billy fulfills a key role in mentoring, training, and developing hotel managers, property associates, and is active in human resources.

Billy received his undergraduate and Master’s degree in Business Administration. One of his favorite aspects of working for the Brighton family is our ability to participate in many different charities. Most noteworthy is our work with Give Kids the World, InnVision Shelter, and Second Food Harvest bank.


DavidDreherTanya Eisenman
Regional Vice President

Tanya Eisenman has been in the hospitality business for over 25 years holding various management positions in Sales and Operations at Country Clubs, Private Event Venues, Catering Companies, and Hotels.  In the last ten years, she has held the position of Director of Sales and Marketing for a Sheraton Product as well as General Manager of two Hilton products in Los Angeles and Orange County.   As Brighton’s Regional Vice President, Tanya is responsible for supporting 8 full service hotels in California including: DoubleTree and Embassy Suites by Hilton, Sheraton, Holiday Inn and Westin Brands.
